We help local voluntary or community organisations provide projects for Hackney residents - such as youth activity schemes, health advice, employment advice and safety improvements - through our grants programme.
We're pleased to announce the launch of our A Place for Everyone - Hackney VCS Grants programme 2017/18. 2017/18 grants programme
LGBTQ project grant
In June 2016 a banner created by Hackney street artist Stik was paraded by Council staff during the Pride in London march. It's currently on display at Hackney Museum but is due to be auctioned. We intend to use the proceeds to provide a charitable grant for a Hackney based project delivered by a voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisation serving the local LGBTQ community. Please read the prospectus and the guidance document on the LGBTQ project for details of this grant and how to apply.
Applications for this grant open on Monday 16 January 2017 for a 6 week period.

Applications for the second round of small grants open Wednesday 5 April 2017, 12 noon.
These grants are between £1,000 and £5,000 for projects being delivered in 2017/18 which contribute to our A Place for Everyone grant priorities. Further guidance on eligibility and completing your application form can be found in the prospectus above and in the small grants guidance document below.
Community chest grants
Applications for the first round of community chest grants open Wednesday 12 April 2017, 12 noon.
These are grants of up to £1,000 for projects and events which contribute to the Council's objective to foster good relations by building a strong sense of community, neighbourliness and pride.
Main grants (including holiday play schemes)
In response to feedback from the voluntary and community sector, the Council launched a two year programme in July 2015 for main grants including holiday play scheme grants. This meant successful organisations could secure two year funding from 2016-18 and plan longer-term outcomes for their users, enabling £726,954 of funding to be allocated for projects being delivered in 2017/18.
Applications for main grant funding 2017/18 for projects that will be delivered from April 2017 are now closed.
