Practitioner registration
Any practitioner who carries out any of the functions listed below at premises located within the London Borough of Hackney requires registration. This registration will allow the practitioner to work at any premises licensed by the London Borough of Hackney for a period of three years.
The following lists set out treatments which are considered to fall into the definition of special treatments as set out in the London Local Authorities Act 1991. If you are providing any of the listed treatments you require registration.
- Massage
- Sauna
- Manicure
- Pedicure
- Cosmetic piercing
- Tattooing
- Nail treatment
- Other types (Please refer to the gudiance notes)
Application form and guidance notes
The application form must be fully completed and the following enclosures must be brought into the office in person:
- Two recent passport size photographs;
- A copy of all relevant qualifications / certificate that covers treatments which you wish to be licensed for;
- Proof of identity (for example, passport or birth certificate and one other form of identification confirming your current address);
- The appropriate fee
Exemption practitioner
The exemption application is for members of accepted Professional Bodies that want to administer special treatments in the London Borough of Hackney.
You must provide the completed application form and the following:
- the appropriate fee
- copies of all relevant membership and qualification certificates for all operatives.
