Olympic jobs for residents
Businesses will close their recruitment process for the Olympic and Paralympic Games on 31 March.
Nearly 1,000 residents have now been offered jobs on or near the Olympic Park for London 2012 so far.
Father-of-three Victor Noel, 28, was offered a job with caterer Bon Appetit through Hackney recruitment centre On Site. On Site is providing advice on how to apply for the many roles on offer during the Games. Victor said: "With the 2012 Games I felt it was a massive opportunity for me. On Site got me an interview and a job with Bincho's restaurant with an immediate start."
Springboard in Lower Clapton is also offering support to residents so they can apply on the spot. One-to-one sessions can be booked with an advisor every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Additionally, Job Centre Plus recently hosted a recruitment session, and the catering company Aramark reports that it has seen more candidates from Hackney than any other host borough.
