Protecting the property of those who are ill or taken into care

Bereavement and Property Protection Services protect the property of any person living in Hackney who is admitted to hospital or residential care, once an official referral has been received.

This involves:

• ensuring the property of the service user is secure
• removing cash, bank books and other small items of value for safekeeping until the service user returns home.

Pets are included in the service and can be temporarily cared for in kennels or re-homed, but the service user will be charged for this.
