Friends of Hackney Archives

 

The Friends of Hackney Archives were formed in 1985 to support the work of the department. They offer a means for all who are interested in Hackney history to keep in touch with the growth of the collection.

They give practical support when needed, in expressing the views of users to the Council, and administering a donations fund, which has assisted in purchasing new material for the collection, including two important collections of theatre posters.

Members receive the department's regular newsletter, The Hackney Terrier, and the Friends' journal, Hackney History. Visits and other meetings are arranged from time to time.

Membership is open to all. The subscription is £10 per calendar year in the UK, £20 overseas, plus £2 for each additional member at the same address (one mailing is sent).
