Safer Communities Partnership
The Hackney Safer Communities Partnership links the Council with local police to make sure we take as strategic, co-ordinated approach to tackling crime and the fear of crime.
The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 made it a requirement that local statutory agencies, including the police and local authorities, become responsible for the development of partnership working to reduce crime, disorder and combat drugs misuse. To achieve this, Partnerships are required to produce a measure of the levels of crime in their areas and to develop a strategy for the long-term reduction of the problems.
Find out more about the current strategy by downloading the Community Safety Strategy on the right.
