Hackney One Carnival 2014
On Sunday 14 September Hackney One Carnival will once again hit the streets. From 2pm-8pm, Hackney's carnival parade will brighten up the borough and entertain residents and visitors alike.
Highlights this year will see Hackney's best young musicians performing on a stage in Hackney Town Hall Square. An all-day children's play area will be created in Gillett Square, including games from around the world, so families can chill out at any time.
After the procession, the carnival will continue in Ridley Road, with reggae, soca and Brazilian music, plus food and arts and crafts from around the world.
This year there are more opportunities for people to get involved as volunteers, through schools or local community groups. Put the date in your diary as Hackney One Carnival 2014 is not to be missed. Look out for the announcement of this year's route and other exciting additions to the celebrations.
