Choosing Care Services

Since the introduction of personal budgets, older or disabled people using social care have a choice over how their needs are met and who supports them.

The table below shows the main social care services available for older people or people with a physical disability to buy with a personal budget. Different services will be available over time, and we will shortly be introducing more services for people with learning disabilities to these pages.

You can use this information to plan what care and support services you want to use - by yourself, with your family or with a social worker or support planner. You can, however, use your Personal Budget on a wider range of support than just these services; more information is available in  What can my budget be spent on? [pdf, 139.53Kb]

The Council will arrange services from the list below for you. You could also take your budget as a direct payment, to purchase services directly. To find out more see direct payments.
