Clissold Park and House Restoration Project
A full professional team have now been recruited to lead on the project. They have been chosen for their excellent track records in delivering successful projects, their conservation and architectural expertise as well as their ability to build firm relationships with stakeholders.
Plans for the park include: restoring the Grade II* listed Clissold House, restoring a section of the New River, renovating the animal enclosure, creating a new play and urban sports area as well as other improvements to enhance the overall appearance of the park.
Cllr Nargis Khan, Cabinet Member for Community Services said: “The Council welcomes the selection of the architects and surveyors that will help us realise our vision for the first major redevelopment of Clissold Park and House in over 100 years.”
Further to public consultation in July 2006, a second round of consultation is taking place to refine the design proposals. Working with local people and community groups, we will be consulting on specific aspects of the project such as the use of Clissold House, designs for new play and sports facilities, the proposal to extend the New River and the renovation of the animal enclosures.
