Clissold Park and House

Clissold Park and House Restoration Project

The £8.9m restoration of Clissold Park and House, jointly funded by Hackney Council, Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and the BIG Lottery Fund, will return the Grade II listed building and grounds to its former 18th century glory and introduce 21st century facilities to meet the needs of modern day visitors.

Plans for the park include: restoring the Grade II listed Clissold House, restoring a section of the New River, extensive maintenance to the two park lakes, renovating the animal enclosure, creating a new play and wheels park area as well as other improvements to enhance the overall appearance of the park.

Significant consultation on the proposals has taken place in the last 12 months. The Council has welcomed the views and contributions of all those involved in helping to finalise the project design details in the lead up to the Council’s Stage II submission for funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund which is due to be decided in June of this year.

Over the coming months the Council is planning to conduct a number of drop in sessions where representatives from the project team will be on hand to present the plans for the house and park and answer any questions. The dates and times for these will be advertised online and notices posted in the park.
