Lots to do
Take part in friendly, interesting and creative events and activities for families and adults.
The Museum also runs occasional special projects. Mapping the Change is a 2012 Olympics project recording the changes to local people's lives.
Lots to learn
Schools are very welcome to visit and we offer an extensive learning programme covering history, literacy, English, citizenship, science and PSHE for nursery, KS1, KS2 and SEN groups, as well as special events for Black History Month and teachers' inset.
Get involved
We are community museum, and rely on the involvement of local people. Individuals can donate objects or memories to the collections, visit and participate in events and activities. Groups can develop their own community exhibitions or partner with us on a project. Please get in touch if you have an idea.
We carry out regular visitor surveys and use the information to develop our service for you. Comment cards are always available and we welcome your feedback.
