Controlled Drinking Area Consultation

Residents and businesses from across the borough have expressed concern regarding an increase in alcohol-related anti-social behaviour. Hackney Council is considering introducing a borough-wide Controlled Drinking Area (CDA).

A borough-wide CDA will give the police in Hackney more powers to confiscate alcohol from people who are drinking or acting anti-socially. Offenders may be prosecuted if they fail to comply with these requests from police. Read the CDA Frequently Asked Questions to find out more.

Have your say

The consultation has now closed.

If you would like further information about the consultation, please contact Barry Scales on 020 8356 3137 or email: asbteam@hackney.gov.uk

What happens next?

At the end of the consultation period the Council will examine the survey feedback and responses and determine whether a CDA will be put in place. We will let you know about the outcome of the decision within three months of the consultation ending.
