Daubeney Fields Goes Wild!
Hackney Council is running the 'Daubeney Fields Goes Wild!' project with ecoACTIVE from November 2011 to April 2012. The Council is paying for the capital items, such as plants and tools. ecoACTIVE received a grant from Team London to run the activity sessions with local people. The project will encourage local communities to get more involved in their local park. It will also be directly delivering a number of targets from the Hackney Biodiversity Action Plan, such as planting new meadows and putting up bird boxes.
Gardening sessions will take place at Daubeney Fields every Saturday afternoon (2 - 4 pm) until April 2012, with special events on:
Saturday 11 Feb - Bird & Bat Box Making - Saturday 18 February - Tree Planting
- Saturday 24 March - Meadow Sowing
Adults and children are welcome to attend the volunteering sessions. Meet at the Adventure Playground at the start, or come and find us in the park. If you are a new volunteer to the project, please contact Jessica Dolan on 020 7923 7899 or admin@ecoactive.org.uk to arrange a brief induction before starting. If you have already volunteered on the project, please just turn up at the Park and join in!
Clapton Rangers
Clapton Rangers Football Club works with 22 young people from years 4, 5 and 6, and their parents, on a weekly basis at Daubeney Fields. Clapton Rangers was established in 1960 to provide a healthy and disciplined activity to prevent young men getting into mischief. Since 2006 Clapton Rangers has been the only team in Hackney to run adults teams alongside youth teams and in 2009 made London FA History by winning 2 London Cups consecutively.

Hackney Marshes Adventure Playground
The Hackney Marshes Adventure Playground is based in Daubeney Fields and managed by the Learning Trust. An adventure playground is a space dedicated to children's play. Skilled playworkers are on hand to encourage and make possible access to a range of play opportunities and experiences - from swinging, climbing and digging to building dens, cooking and painting. Adventure playgrounds are usually open after school, on Saturdays and in the holidays, and accept children aged from 6 to 15 years.
