Discover Young Hackney 2009

From January to March the best of Hackney’s arts and cultural organisations opened their doors to 11-19 year olds so they could explore their hidden creative talents. Discover Young Hackney gives thousands of young people the chance to show their talent or try something new in the arts.

This year’s theme of Internationalism and Arts for Everyone reflects the diversity of arts and cultural activities on offer at the festival, and also the diverse community these events attract.

The festival kicked off on 23 January the Hackney Empire with the return of ‘Im In’, Hackney’s very own X Factor talent contest. See the festival programme for more info on this and other events.
