Discover Young Hackney 2012
Discover Young Hackney 2012 is now in full swing. For our sixth year we have been striving to make the 2012 festival bigger, better and brighter than before. With events, workshops and training programmes it's a chance for young people in Hackney to make a mark, showcase talent, get a foot in the door or just try something new.
Events include the Alter Ego Finals, a talent competition hosted by Hackney Empire, shoot your own video, music, fashion, dance and drama workshops, and don't forget the closing party weekender on 25 February.
This award-winning festival started in 2007 and has become an annual highlight of Hackney's cultural calendar. It encourages young people's creativity and helps them discover pathways into training and careers in the arts through an exciting programme of events. The festival is delivered by Hackney's Cultural Development Team in partnership with Hackney's Youth Arts Cluster.
