Abandoned Vehicle Removal
We aim to remove vehicles that are abandoned in Hackney as soon as is legally possible. There are different procedures for removal based on the vehicle's condition and location.
If you report an abandoned vehicle, we will investigate within 24 hours of receiving the complaint. The following will usually indicate that a vehicle has been abandoned:
- Not moved for a long period of time
- Rusty brake discs
- Flat tyres/broken windows
- Being burnt out
- General condition of deterioration
Untaxed vehicles reported to the Council will be investigated within 2 working days of receiving the report.

Please provide as must information as possible i.e. the vehicle's exact location, the make and model and registration number.
