Suspensions & Dispensations
The London Borough of Hackney views the suspension of parking bays and Dispensation waivers (yellow line waivers) as important tools in managing the traffic in the borough.
Parking Service will grant dispensation and suspensions on the basis that the desired request does not compromise traffic flow and the parking needs of residents, local businesses and visitors to the borough.
Suspensions
Customers seeking to carry out work in parking bays in excess of one week will need to apply for a suspension. If you require the suspension of a parking place for building works or other activities, which require access to the highway please see our contact us page.
Suspended bays are indicated by yellow hoods covering signage and/or pay and display machines. For suspended residents’ bays, advance warning signs will be put up 5 days in advance, where possible, to minimise the inconvenience caused.
Removal/Relocations of Vehicles Parked in Suspended bays
It is a parking offence to park in a suspended bay and vehicles may be removed to our pound if they are obstructing works. If you suspect your vehicle has been removed or relocated from a suspended bay please see our contact us page and look for car pound/TRACE info.
Dispensation Waivers (Yellow line waivers)
If you require parking over the course of the day for domestic removals, weddings and funerals you may apply for a yellow line waiver which can be obtained at our Parking Shop, or you can download a Parking Bay Dispensation Application Form
Red Routes
LB Hackney does not issue dispensations or suspensions for Red routes. To obtain information for parking waivers for red routes contact Transport for London on 0845 603 4545
