Controlled Parking Zone C (Dalston)

The next operational review will take place in 2009/2010

Parking Services last reviewed Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) E in 2006 - the public consultation ran between 6 November 2006 and 12 January 2007.

We review every new CPZ after its first year of operation and then again every three years thereafter, as outlined in the Council’s Parking and Enforcement Plan (2005). These reviews are designed to help us make sure that each CPZ meets the needs of the local communities they serve.

Major Design Changes

CPZ operational hours

As result of your feedback, we have considered changes to the general design, operational hours, and pay and display charging structure of your CPZ.

The most popular start and finish times were the same as those that are currently in operation. The operational hours for Zone C will therefore remain

• Monday to Saturday, 7:00am - 7:00pm.

Improved Pay and Display Structure

We have improved the pay and display charging structure to encourage shorter parking times in commercial areas so that more short-stay customers can use these spaces.

Making the roads safer

We will be making some design changes to improve the safety of your CPZ, these include:

• Installing double yellow lines (‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions) at most junctions to make sure that visibility for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers is preserved.
• Installing double yellow lines along some sections of road where the minimum running width needs to be maintained for emergency vehicle access.
• Installing double yellow lines in heavily congested areas and on some priority bus routes to ease obstructions and keep traffic flowing.

Implementation Dates

Subject to weather conditions, the work to implement these changes is planned to take place according to the timetable below:
