Conservation and Urban Design
Conversation and Urban Design Team are responsible for helping to preserve the historic built fabric of the Borough and encouraging good contemporary design, in line with the Council’s aspirations for a high quality environment for a sustainable community.
The Conservation & Urban Design Team work alongside with Development Control Officers to assess development proposals, and attempt to negotiate improvements in the quality of schemes wherever necessary
The Team also act as an information resource for the public, developers, architects and council officers, producing guidance notes for development within the Borough, such as design guides and Conservation Area Appraisals.
