Design and Access Statement

For most planning applications and all applications for Listed Building Consent received by the Local Planning Authority on or after 10 August 2006, and for applications received prior to that date but which were not yet valid, there is an absolute requirement for the applicant to submit a Design and Access Statement before the application can be registered. Furthermore the Statement must include a number of issues set out in detail below:
What is a Design and Access Statement?
A Design and Access Statement is a report accompanying and supporting a planning application or application for listed building consent. The purpose of a Design and Access Statement is to explain how the applicant has considered the proposal and understands what is appropriate and feasible for the site in its local context. It explains the principles that will be used to guide the future details of the scheme. Please view the links below for further guidance.
