Hackney Evidence Base
Hackney is working towards producing its new Local Development Framework (LDF) to replace the existing 1995 UDP. An important feature of the new plan is to have up-to-date evidence to support the policies set out in the LDF. Hackney has commissioned a number of independent consultants to produce an analysis of trends and issues covering:
- Housing Capacity
- Employment Growth Options
- Open Space and Sports Assessment
- Retail and Leisure
- Tall Buildings
- Night Time Economy
- Live/Work
- Small Business Workspace Provision
Please Note: Although the material has been commissioned by Hackney, for Hackney and is on Hackney’s website, these reports are the work of independent consultants and any recommendations contained in the reports should not be taken as approved Hackney policy. We will consider the recommendations when developing Hackney policies, which will then be open to public consultation before being formally adopted and after an examination in public in Summer 2007.
Other evidence is also being produced which will contribute to the evidence base. Some of these are listed below:
- A State of the Historic Environment Report has been produced by our Conservation and Design Team.
- A Transport Strategy is currently being developed. For further information please contact Transportation & Parking.
- A Waste Strategy is being developed by all 7 boroughs in the North London Waste Authority Area.
