The Abney Park Cemetery Trust
The Abney Park Cemetery Trust has, in collaboration with the English Heritage, the Environment Agency and other concerned bodies and with the London Borough of Hackney, owners of the Cemetery, prepared a Management Plan for the cemetery.
The Building Exploratory
The Building Exploratory is an interactive exhibition exploring buildings and the built environment. It is the first education and resource centre in the UK to do this. The Building Exploratory is unique in that many of the exhibits are made through art projects with local people. Each year 70% of Hackney Schools take part in education and arts programmes, and thousands of local residents join our workshops and public tours. The Building Exploratory is now widely recognised as a replicable model of national significance.

The Clissold Park Forum
The Clissold Park Forum has been created for local people who use and care about Clissold Park.
Friends of Hackney Archives
The Friends of Hackney Archives were formed in 1985 to support the work of the Department. They offer a means for all who are interested in Hackney history to keep in touch with the growth of the collection. They give practical support when needed, in expressing the views of users to the Council, and administering a donations fund, which has assisted in purchasing new material for the collection, including two important collections of theatre posters.
The Geffrye Museum
An excellent museum covering the history of English domestic interiors, with period room displays from 1600-2000. The museum is housed in a fine group of c18th Almshouses, with gardens, a restaurant and temporary exhibition space. Free entry!
Groundwork East London
Groundwork East London exists to bring about sustainable improvements to the local environment through partnership and to contribute to economic and social regeneration.
The Hackney Archives
The Hackney Archives Department looks after the archives of Hackney - the administrative records of the borough council and its predecessors back to 1700, and of organisations and individuals within the borough.
Hackney Co-operative Developments
Hackney Co-operative Developments (HCD) is a not for profit voluntary sector organisation with over 20 years experience delivering Central Government and European Union regeneration programmes. HCD provides premises for over 50 local businesses, voluntary organisations and community groups, and has provided development support, business advice and training to hundreds of local people every year.

The Hackney Museum
In 1986, the London Borough of Hackney established Hackney Museum. Its remit is to collect, preserve and interpret evidence regarding the history of Hackney and the worldwide roots of its people.
The Hackney Society
The Hackney Society works to preserve Hackney's unique heritage and make the area a better place in which to live and work. The Society was formed 30 years ago to involve and support local people in the conservation and regeneration of Hackney's built environment and public spaces.
Hackney Walks
The Hackney Walks website was commissioned by the Hackney Society in 2002. Initial funding for four walks came from the regeneration agency Groundwork Hackney. Further develoment of the site is subject to additional funding. The site aims to detail six walks around the borough, highlighting the architectural and historical significance of a number of prominent buildings and locations. It offers route maps and supporting information on sites of interest.
Sutton House

The Sutton House Music Society

Sutton House Society
The Sutton House Society is a friends’ organisation supporting the National Trust at Sutton House. It participates in the Local Advisory Committee, to which it nominates 50% of the members. It raises funds in support of Sutton House. It has a programme of social events and activities for members both within Sutton House and outside. Its newsletter provides up-to-date information on events in Sutton House and features articles on the history of Sutton House and its environs.
