Road Safety - Dangerous Junctions

I see many accidents on my road, is there something that can be done to prevent this?

Transport for London control most of the major roads such as the A10 and Clapton Road. The remainder of the highway network is the responsibility of Hackney Council.

I cannot see properly when coming out of a junction due to an obstruction.

Obstructions can consist of many items like cars parked, street furniture and recycle bins.

I am elderly or infirm and I find it difficult to cross the road easily.

Most common types of problems are caused by parked vehicles. Please contact the Hackney Service Centre on 020 8356 2897 with your enquiry details.  An Officer will investigate the site.

There is a pelican crossing where the green man time is too short.

This matter is dealt with by the Traffic Management team. All installation and maintenance work on traffic signals in London are the responsibility of Transport of London. The London Borough of Hackney is responsible for initiating changes through liaison with Transport of London.
