High rise buildings and waste collections

Residents living in high rise buildings usually have shared waste disposal facilities - shared, large bins, located at ground level, which will be collected at least once a week.

Collection schedules

To find out when the collection day for your building is, you can contact the Hackney Wasteline (the number is at the top-right corner of this page).

Private landlords

In some cases, waste collections may be organised by a private landlord with a private contractor. Where this is the case, you will need to contact your landlord directly for further information on waste collection.

Reducing your waste

We encourage everyone to cut down on rubbish in the first place - it can save money and protects the environment! Find out more about waste prevention.

Recycling on estates

You can help create a cleaner, greener, more sustainable Hackney by recycling more. We offer comprehensive recycling services and we encourage all residents to make the most of these. Find out more about recycling on high-rise estates.
