Council Tax helps towards the cost of the services provided by Hackney Council. Although we are responsible for the collection of business rates, these revenues are paid to the Government who pay us an income for collecting them.
Our revenues team in Hackney is responsible for the collection of council tax from over 95,000 homes and 9,000 business premises in the Borough. The total revenues we are responsible for collecting each year exceeds £100 million.
