What you need to tell us if you are moving home
To help us send you an amended bill or credit note more quickly, please write or telephone with the details below:
Basic Information
- Your name and your old address
- Your old Council Tax account number
- The name of the new occupier, if you know it
- The date you are moving
- Your new address
- If you move to a new address in Hackney, let us know the name and forwarding address of the people who lived there before you, if you have these details.
In addition to this basic information, it is helpful for us to have other useful information as this may prevent us having to contact you therefore causing a delay in updating your circumstances.
Useful Information
- Your Council Tax account number to identify your account on our records
- A daytime telephone number or e-mail address.
- If you are a tenant, the name and address of your Landlord, whether the property is furnished, the name of the new tenants.
- If you own the property, details of the Agents arranging the sale of your property or the name of the Solicitor acting for you on the sale.
You can write to us at the Council Tax Office, Keltan House, 89-115 Mare Street, E8 4RU. Alternatively, you can telephone the Council Tax office on 020 8356 3154 (between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm) and report your change in circumstances.
