How Do I Claim?
You can claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit if you are on a low income. If you wish to apply for Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit please visit our benefit claim and calculator page.
If you do not wish to apply online you can request that a form be sent to you by phoning us on 0208 356 3399.
If you have claimed Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based), Pension Credit - Guarantee Credit or Employment Support Allowance (Income Related), you may already have completed Council Tax Benefit and Housing Benefit forms with your application for these benefits.
If you get Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based), Pension Credit - Guarantee Credit or Employment Support Allowance (Income Related), you may get your full eligible rent paid.
If you do not get Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based), Pension Credit - Guarantee Credit or Employment Support Allowance (Income Related), the amount of Housing Benefit you get depends on the amount of eligible rent that you pay, how many people live with you, your personal circumstances, how much money you have coming in and how much you have in savings.
