Internet based geographical data services involve management of location and non-location (attribute) data. The development of Web-based GIS systems would serve two purposes:
- It would allow the user to operate the system without having to grapple with the underlying details of GIS terminologies and technology.
- It would allow sharing of information and technical expertise among a wide range of users.
You are invited to experience all the interactive capabilities of the Map.Hackney site which provides information on the following datasets by creating your own maps using the mapping application;

- Administrative boundaries
- Address search for postcodes and streets
- Council services
- Government organisations
- Unitary Development Plan of Hackney.
- Property
- Environment
- Ward Profiles
- Regeneration
Application Deliverables:
- Multi layer functionality. This enables the comparison of different layers of information.
- Map Interface interactions for attribute information.
- Address Search Functionality.
- Display locations of services within the Borough.
