Free swimming to continue
You may have heard reports that the Government intends to stop its funding for free swimming for young people and over-60s from July this year.
Despite this announcement, and other cuts to local authority grants, Hackney Council is determined to continue funding free swimming for under-18s and over 60s.
The Council is committed to providing affordable swimming activities for all Hackney's residents and will be consulting residents in the autumn about the best ways to do this in the future.
Local pools participating in the free swimming scheme are Kings Hall Leisure Centre, Britannia Leisure Centre, and Clissold Leisure Centre.
