How to find us
Hackney Museum is conveniently situated in Hackney Central next to the Town Hall Square - see map on the right of this page.
Overground
Hackney Central overground station is a 5 minute walk from the Museum.
Tube
Take the central line to Bethnal Green, then 106 or 254 from stop C or D6 from stop B.
Bus
Hackney Central is a major bus interchange: 30, 38, 48, 55, 56, 106, 236, 242, 253, 254, 276, 277, 394, 425, 488, D6 and W15
Museum shop
The shop sells a selection of books, souvenirs and pocket money toys. It is the only place in the Borough for you to buy your I Love Hackney T-shirts, mugs, beanie hats, shopping bags and Oyster card holders.
Access and facilities
- The Museum is on the ground floor, and is fully level, with level access.
- There are disabled parking spaces at the front of the building, on Reading Lane.
- The Museum has a wheelchair accessible toilet.
Culture Line
Hackney Museum is proud to be part of Culture Line, a group of 10 museums and galleries sited along the length of the London Overground East London extension, which opened in May 2010.
