Hackney Wick Area Action Plan

The Hackney Wick Area Action Plan (AAP) plays a central role in bringing forward the regeneration of Hackney Wick. It provides a coherent strategy for guiding development and investment, and seeks to influence the direction of and maximise the benefits from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games and their legacy for the wider Wick neighbourhood, half of which sits within the Olympic Park itself.

The AAP has a strong focus on implementation and forms a statutory component of the Local Development Framework.

Current Stage - Publication of the Hackney Wick Action Plan (Pre-Submission Document)

The Hackney Wick Phase 1 AAP was adopted by the Council in September 2010 following extensive consultation with the community and stakeholders. The AAP now needs to go through the formal adoption process to become a Development Plan Document (DPD) in the Council's Local Development Framework (LDF). In November 2011, Cabinet approved the next step in the formal adoption process being 'Publication' of the AAP (and supporting documents).

Public representations are invited within a 6 week period from Monday 30 January until Monday 12 March 2012 (4pm) on the soundness and legal compliance of the AAP.

The Council is also seeking confirmation from the Greater London Authority (GLA) on this conformity as part of Regulation 29.

Representations received will be considered by the Inspector as part of the 'Examination in Public' (next stage of AAP adoption) during which the 'soundness' of the documents will be confirmed.
