Haggerston Park

Haggerston Park is in the south west corner of Hackney, bordered by Queensbridge Road, Hackney Road and Goldsmith's Row. The park was developed in two phases - the previously industrial northern half of the site became a public park in the late 1950s and the southern half of the park was fully developed for public use in the 1980s.

The park holds a Green Flag award. The awards are given to the best green spaces in the country and are awarded each year to make sure the quality of the green space remains high.

Toilets temporarily closed

Due to significant vandalism on the 18 November 2013, the toilets in Haggerston Park are currently closed. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Updates will be posted on this webpage, but we hope to reopen them in Spring 2014.

Haggerston Park user group

Haggerston Park user group meets every six weeks to discuss developments in the park. They work closely with Hackney City Farm to organise events and volunteer days in the park. All are welcome. Email parks@hackney.gov.uk for more information and to join.

BMX track

The BMX track is accessible whenever the park is open and is free to use. If you would like to learn how to ride the track, Hackney BMX club run coaching sessions every Sunday, 10am - 12noon. For updates, follow @HackneyBMX on twitter, visit the Hackney BMX facebook page or email hello@hackneybmx.com.

Orchard and food growing space

The Haggerston Park community orchard and food growing garden is slowly taking shape. An old fence has been removed, the ground has been cleared and prepared and 200 plants have been planted. So far 180 volunteers have helped prepare the ground, dig holes, fill holes, mulch, turn compost, put up fencing and plant edible plants.

Haggerston Park is licensed for plays, showing films, live music, recorded music and dance performances. Find out about holding events in parks.
