How you can Get Ahead of the Games

With less than six months to go, TfL has launched a London-wide campaign Get Ahead of the Games, advising travellers and businesses on how to prepare their journeys at Games time.

With millions of extra journeys taking place during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the campaign will highlight the times and places where pressure is likely to be greatest, and advise travellers on how to avoid the hotspots.

The campaign will feature online, radiio, outdoor and national and regional newspaper advertising and the website www.getaheadofthegames.com will provide the latest tips and travel information. From the website, travellers can opt to receive Games email travel alerts and make use of the TfL Journey Planner and live traffic updates.

Hackney businesses are advised to plan ahead for deliveries and staff travel to work, and are invited to attend free workshops provided by London 2012 and TfL in Dalston and Shoreditch on 16 February. For more information or to book email  keeponrunning@london2012.com

Hackney residents and commuters will be affected at certain times by pressure at local transport hubs such as London Bridge, Liverpool Street, Stratford and Highbury and Islington, so should plan ahead using the TfL and Hackney Council websites.
