Help for home owners and private tenants

Did you know that a new Hackney Council scheme offers grants of up to £6,000 for improving energy efficiency and home security for home-owners and private tenants?

You need to be receiving certain benefits or be on a low income to qualify but even if you are not, if you are over 60 and willing to pay at least half the cost of the work, the Council can offer you up to £1,000 towards it.

The work can include insulation, heating and home security measures.
