What you can expect from Hackney social care services

When you ask for a service, you can expect:

  • to be treated fairly, taking into consideration any needs you have because of your race, culture, ethnic origin, religion, gender, age, sexuality and disability
  • to be treated with politeness and courtesy
  • to be told what services we can offer you, the standards you can expect and about any charges; and
  • to receive information about any services we provide so you will know what to expect and who you can contact.

Working with others

We work closely with other Council departments, the health service and independent providers so that we can offer a range of services that will meet the needs of Hackney’s diverse community.

Some of our services are delivered jointly with the health service the City and Hackney Primary Care Trust and the East London and City Mental Health Trust

The joint development of health and social care is managed through the City and Hackney Thriving, healthy communities board and the Children and Young People's Partnership board , also known as 'a good place to grow up'.
