Key partners

The Environmental Enforcement and Pollution Control Service works in partnership with the following external organisations to help improve the quality of Hackney's local environment:

Hackney Community Action Panels

Every ward across Hackney has its own Community Action Panel (CAP). Chaired by residents, the panel works together with the local Metropolitan Police and the Council to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in your area.

Issues concerning environmental problems that contribute to crime, hate crime and neighbourhood nuisance are also discussed.

Hackney Homes

Hackney Homes is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for managing council homes in Hackney. This includes managing housing, collecting rent, and repairing and maintaining homes.

Metropolitan Police Hackney Safer Neighbourhood Teams

Safer Neighbourhoods teams are ward-based police teams. They are dedicated to the needs of each specific neighbourhood, with the policing priorities for that area decided in partnership with

  • local stakeholders, including  members of the public
  • crime and disorder reduction partnerships (CDRPs)
  • local authorities and other local organisations.

Officers are trained to communicate with a wide range of people, communities and partners, to tackle and solve community problems.
