Mayor

Jules Pipe (CBE)

Responsible for the overall corporate strategy, financial management, and delivery of services by the Council. He appoints a Cabinet to support him in making decisions on how Council services are delivered.

Deputy Mayor

Councillor Karen Alcock:

Lead responsibility for strategic housing, housing needs, and issues relating to Hackney Homes. Also responsible for strategic property and equalities. Deputises for the Mayor as required.
Councillor Feryal Demirci

Neighbourhoods

Councillor Feryal Demirci

Lead responsibility for neighbourhood renewal, waste management, recycling, street scene and highway infrastructure, environmental health and trading standards, parking, traffic management, and markets.

Children's Services

Councillor Rita Krishna:

Lead responsibility for all issues relating to children and young people, including education, children’s social services and the youth service.
Cllr Sophie Linden

Crime, Sustainability, and Customer Services

Councillor Sophie Linden:

Lead responsibility for crime and community safety, noise nuisance, licensing enforcement, customer services, human resources and organisational development, consultations, neighbourhood & civic engagement, and environmental sustainability.
Councillor Samantha Lloyd

Finance

Councillor Samantha Lloyd:

Lead responsibility for finance, including revenues and benefits, audit, procurement and pensions.
Councillor Jonathan McShane

Community Services

Councillor Jonathan McShane:

Lead responsibility for libraries, parks, and leisure services, adult and community social services, health, and voluntary sector issues.

Regeneration and 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games

Councillor Guy Nicholson:

Lead responsibility for promoting investment into the Borough and bringing about the sustainable Regeneration of Hackney’s neighbourhoods and town centres. Responsible for the socio economic and cultural development of the borough, increasing employment opportunities for residents, maximising the opportunities presented by 2012, strategic transport regeneration and the forming of Planning and Land Use policies for the borough.

Cabinet Adviser for Crime and Community Safety

Councillor Julius Nkafu

Supports the Cabinet member for Crime, Sustainability and Customer Services on crime and community safety issues.

Cllr Tom Price

Cabinet Adviser for Hackney Homes

Councillor Tom Price

Supports the Deputy Mayor on all matters relating to Hackney Homes.
