Supporting people with a learning disability in the voting process

The Disability Rights Commission's Learning Disability Action Group, in partnership with the Valuing People Support Team, has produced a 'Right to Vote' pack to support people with a learning disability in the voting process.

Voting is an important right and an important part of being a citizen. But many people with learning disabilities don't get the chance to vote. The 'Right to Vote' pack tells people how to register to vote and what to do at the polling station. There is also a fact sheet for people who support voters with learning disabilities.

The Disability Right Commission are also putting together a training pack on voting. This will be published shortly on their website.
