How to become a member of Hackney leisure centres
Hackney leisure centres provide a great range of fitness facilities, including gyms, swimming pools and saunas. They also offer a wide range of fitness activities and classes.
You can become a member of Hackney Leisure centres by:
- dropping into your local leisure centre (you can view a list of Hackney leisure centres here)
- contacting the charity social enterprise that manages Hackney's gyms and swimming pools, GLL. You can contact GLL online or by calling 020 8317 5000.
A special new membership for disabled users has recently been announced - please see below for details.

New membership available for disabled leisure centre users: inclusive LONDON
A new membership, inclusive LONDON, is now available in Hackney leisure centres, giving disabled users access to 30 GLL centres across the 5 Olympic and Paralympic boroughs. You can join now with a special introductory offer of only £19.95 per month.*
This membership gives anyone aged 16 or over the freedom to use our facilities.
Simply pay a monthly direct debit or one-off annual fee and enjoy inclusive use of the majority of facilities at both peak and off peak time. The membership provides:
- inclusive access to swimming
- inclusive access to gym
- inclusive fitness induction
- inclusive access to group exercise classes
- inclusive access to one 2 hour Creche Play & Learn session per week
- no minimum contract
- 6 days advance telephone booking
- online booking
- access to courses and other member only activities
- up to 30% off non-member prices for any other activities
The above benefits are available at all GLL leisure centres in the London Boroughs of Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. Carers gain free access when accompanying inclusive LONDON members.
We welcome all customers to our centres and aim for our activities to be inclusive and DDA compliant.

To join you will need:
- a valid bank account
- proof of eligibility (see below)
- to pay appropriate fees
