Membership and Joining

Anyone can join Hackney Libraries – you do not have to be a Hackney resident. All you need to do is -

If you are aged 18 or over -

  • complete the online Adults Library Membership Form
  • complete the form in the download box on the right and print it out
  • visit your local library and complete the form there

If you are under 18 -

  • complete the online Young Peoples Library Membership Form. You will need to get a parent or guardian to agree and you will need to put their name on the form.
  • complete the form in the download box on the right and print it out
  • visit your local library and complete the form there

The online form asks you to select a library which you are most likely to use. Once you have filled in the form, just come along to that library and the staff will give you your new membership card. You will need to bring proof of your address with you.

If you do not have a proof of address, don’t worry, visit the Introductory Membership page.
