London Week of Peace

Two events are taking place in Hackney as part of the London Week of Peace which promotes safe streets and peace within the community. All are welcome.
'Believe' - a youth talent showcase
Saturday 18 September, 2-4pm (doors open 1pm)

An afternoon of entertainment including a fashion show, music, poetry and motivational speakers. MCs: athlete Tasha Danvers and comedian 'Little Man'.
The free show will be presented by 2008 Olympic bronze medallist Tasha Danvers and comedian Lil Man and forms part of Peace Week, the annual call for people to make a difference to the place they live, work, study or play.
The event is organised annually by the Robert Levy Foundation, a youth charity set up by the family of 16-year-old Robert Levy who was murdered in 2004 a few yards from his Hackney home. The Foundation promotes education and positive activities for young people.
The Believe event is supported by Team Hackney, the borough's strategic partnership.

Meet the police, Council and partners to find out how you can stay safe in Hackney, and share your views with those responsible for helping to keep the borough safe.
Also present, will be representatives of Hackney's Youth Parliament, and providers of services for children and young people. With family activities such as face painting, and free refreshments, it's not a day to be missed.
