More reasons to move by bike
- Riding a bicycle is one of the fastest ways to get around London and to get to work.
- Over two thirds of all trips and over half of car trips are under 5 miles; approximately a 30 minute cycle ride.
- Riding is a great way to keep fit. Riding a bike for 20 to 30 minutes three times a week can help maintain fitness and significantly contribute to achieving a longer life expectancy.
- The health advantages of cycling outweigh the risks by a ratio of 20 to 1, according to the British Medical Association. Regular cyclists typically enjoy the fitness levels (heart rate, blood pressure) of non-cyclists ten years their junior.
- Riding can save you money. Reduce your costs on public transport tickets, parking, petrol and congestion charges by getting on your bike.
