Naming Ceremonies

A Naming Ceremony is a special, non-religious way of celebrating being a family, and an opportunity to declare before family and friends your promises to be a good parent and your aims and ideals for raising your child. Parents do not have to be married and can come from any background.

The registrars at Hackney will discuss your requirements with in detail and help you devise a ceremony which is tailored to you needs and wishes.

You can hold your ceremony almost anywhere you wish, including your own home, and the Council have a wide range of Approved Premises. If you wish you can hold your ceremony at home, but there are certain conditions that apply, including a pre-ceremony consultation visit to your home.

Fees

Fees for a Naming ceremony start at just £43.50 and depend on the venue chosen and the day of the week.
