Naming ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a special, non-religious way of celebrating being a family, and an opportunity to declare before family and friends your promises to be a good parent and your aims and ideals for raising your child. Parents do not have to be married and can come from any background.

The registrars at Hackney will discuss your requirements with you in detail and help you devise a ceremony which is tailored to your needs and wishes.

You can hold your ceremony almost anywhere you wish, including your own home, but there are certain conditions that apply, including a pre-ceremony consultation visit to your home.

Hackney Council also have a wide range of approved premises.

Fees

Fees for a Naming ceremony start at just £55, depending on the venue chosen and the day of the week.
