New Pathways is a director led training programme for 15 new entrants to film designed to take participants to the first stage of filmmaking, looking at new techniques and technologies and exploring alternative routes of exhibition and distribution.
Aims of New Pathways Film Fund
- New Pathways aims to provide 15 new entrants to the film industry from the three partner boroughs, with an intensive training and film development programme
- To support filmmakers to write, shoot and edit 6 new short films
- To gain an understanding of new technologies and be able to utilise them
- To promote and develop filmmaking in the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham by offering financial support, professional development and advice from industry professionals direct to new talent
- To exhibit work produced as part of the East End Film Festival
- To explore new ways of exhibition and distribution
- To sign post filmmakers to other sources of funding and professional development
