Online Recruitment System
Additional Information on Applying Online
You can apply online for a job within the Children and Young People's directorate at Hackney. This is the fastest and most efficient way to apply for roles, and you will soon be able to do so for all positions within the council.
You can complete your application in stages, but you must complete each section in the order it appears. You do not need to complete your applicaiton in one sitting, as long as you complete each section in order you can leave the system and come back at your leisure. Once you have finished each section and completed your application you can submit it with the click of a button.
The Personal Statement section of the application has a character limit of 4,000 words and is a standard text based field. If your statement is longer than 4,000 characters, or you would like to format your summary (in terms of font or colour etc) you can use the document upload section to attach an additional document in the format or length of your choice.
If you have started your application and lost track of the closing date, the system will send you an email to remind you that time is ticking by. You can also sign up for job alerts so that we can notify you when roles that meet your specific search criteria are about to be advertised, that way you won't miss the vacancy you have been waiting for.
Once you have logged on and created an account (using your email address and a password) the system will save all your application details and status, and update you each time you sign on. You can then access all the information you have submitted and edit it as and when. This also means that if you apply for more than one role with the Council, you need only complete the ‘Personal Statement’ section again.
We hope that you'll find the system straight forward and instinctive to use, we have set up a frequently asked question page, but if you have any further questions or you are unable to apply online please email us recruitment@hackney.gov.uk or call us on 020 8356 2798.
