Parks user groups
Get involved with Hackney parks
There are currently 21 active park user groups in Hackney. These groups contribute greatly to the life of parks and green spaces in Hackney through the voluntary activity of people who feel strongly about the care and improvement of Hackney’s green spaces.
Hackney Parks Forum is a voluntary body whose members are made up of park user groups and other environmentally based groups. The Forum represents user groups by working in partnership with Hackney Council in the preservation, conservation, maintenance and development of those spaces for the benefit of the whole community. It also supports individuals and organisations that use parks if they want to form their own user group.
Some of the improvements user groups have been involved in so far are:
- the regeneration of Clapton Pond
- the imminent improvement of the Mansion House in Clissold Park
- the restoration of the London Fields Lido
- the imminent restoration of Springfield Park Conservatory
- the planting of trees and plants plus other conservation projects
- public events such as the Well Street Common annual festival
- the creation of play areas
