About the project

Consent was granted for a rear and side extension to the Bath House Children's Community Centre. White brick, bright colours, bright yellow rubber floor and expansive glass doors connect inside to outside.

Internally, a central tree-like form provides a large open plan multi-purpose space, areas for quiet play, reading, sleeping, adventure, creativity, growth; physically and emotionally and a sense of protection.

The space has made people engage with one another differently, has changed relationships and provides a practical and emotional security and well-being for children and staff. The nursery has recently been awarded an 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and a RIBA London Award 2016.
