Charges for PCNs

There are two levels of charges for PCNs depending on the level of disruption to traffic and other motorists. 

• Higher rate PCN for more serious offence is £130 if the contravention date is on or after 15 April 2011 and £120 if the contravention date is before 15 April 2011
• Lower rate PCN for less serious offence is £80

A 50% discount rate (£65, £60 or £40) will be accepted if paid within the first 14 days after the PCN was issued.  For a CCTV parking and moving traffic PCN, the discount rate applies for 21 days.

Bailiff charges in Hackney 

If the PCN remains unpaid, it will be passed to the bailiff who will collect the debt plus their own recovery fees. Please refer to Debt Recovery FAQs (PDF, 19KB) for information on Penalty Charge Notices that are registered for debt and passed to bailiffs.
