Birth - Re-Registering
If the Father's details were not included in the original registration, they can be added later by re-registering the birth. The baby's surname can also be changed at this point, if both parents wish.
The first stage is to complete the application form (available from Registrars) enclosing any necessary documentation.
They will then contact you with your appointment. Both parents will need to attend.
If parents subsequently marry following any birth registration, they must also re-register to show they have now married. Applications are made in the same way; however, only one parent need attend the appointment.
Please contact the Registrar using the details on the right to arrange a re-registration. There may be a small fee for this service.
