Creating Community Archives
Thursday 20 November, 6-7.30pm

Part of Mapping the Change, a project to record changes to our Borough in the run up to the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, and how local people feel about them.

This event is for “Community Observers” - people who would like to keep track of some of the changes in the area where they live or work, or who are already keeping records of what is happening.

Come along and show us your records of the changes the Olympics have made, or get inspiration for what you could be recording.  See the ways that people recorded changes in their community a century ago, and find out how your records could be kept and used for the next hundred years.

Becoming a community observer involves -

  • Joining the Mapping the Change team
  • Contributing your records of the changes and how you feel about them
  • Seeing your work in special exhibitions and events
  • Contributing to a permanent collection to document Hackney’s story

To book your place or for more information please e-mail us or give us a call (see details on the right of this page).
