Are you concerned about a child?

If you are concerned or worried a child may be suffering, or at risk of suffering harm you should take the following steps –

  • If you believe that a child or young person is at immediate risk, this should be reported without delay to the police service as a 999 emergency.
  • If you have some concerns about a child or young person but beleive them not to be at immediate risk please contact your local authority’s children and young people’s services on –

    For Hackney:
    Access and Assessment on 020 8356 5500 (9am-5pm)
    Out of hours service 020 8356 2346 (5pm-9am)

    For City of London:
    Children’s Social Work Team on 020 7332 3621 (9am-5pm)
    Out of hours service 020 8356 2346 (5pm-9am)
